Discord events offer many conveniences. They’re easy to use and are highly
visible. For simple events without any real attendance requirements,
they’re often all that’s needed. However, they don’t always work well for
more structured events.
One of the main limitations of Discord events is the way responses are
handled. Potential attendees only have the option to select “Interested”
when signing up, which is about as non-committal as a response can be. Event
organizers and attendees alike are left to puzzle out who is actually
attending.
The reality is that not all events are created equal. An “Interested”
button may suffice for some, but many events require firm commitment from
attendees. For others still, knowing who is not attending is as important
as knowing who is.
Some communities may require even more granularity. A raid group might need
options for Tank, Healer, and Damage, with limited capacity
for each option, while still retaining the ability for attendees to mark
themselves as Declined. A tournament organizer might need options for
Participant, Caster, and Volunteer. The requirements from one
organization to another can vary drastically.
There may be further requirements such as limited capacity events, invite-only
events, or cutoff times when attendees must signup by. Discord events have
their place, but they don’t have the flexibility many event organizers need.
What is Apollo?
Apollo is an event scheduling app for Discord that aims to make managing
events easy. One of the ways we do that is by providing full control
over the signup options available on an event.
Creating an event with Apollo is easy.

That’s it! Apollo will post the event to the specified Discord channel,
where your community can sign up for the event with one click, making it
easy to track attendance.
By default, Apollo events are created with the following signup options:
Accepted, Declined, and Tentative. During event creation, you
can choose to modify these signup options. You might add a capacity to the
Accepted option, remove the Tentative option, or, with an active
Premium membership, restrict signups to only
those who have a specific Discord role.

You can also create a signup preset with the /signup_presets add
command, which makes it easy to reuse a common set of signup options
across events. Apollo’s default signup options can also be changed with the
/signup_presets default
command, if you always want to use a specific preset.
Out of the box, Apollo includes signup options for Accepted, Tentative,
Declined, as well as Tank, Healer, and Damage for raid
signups. For even more flexibility, you can create your own signup
options with Apollo Premium, which allows you
to provide your own custom icon and label. The sky is the limit with custom
signup options!

FAQ
Which signup options receive reminders?
When setting up a signup option, you get to decide whether the option indicates
attendance. Options that indicate attendance will receive event reminders.
For Apollo’s default options of Accepted, Tentative, and Declined,
only the Accepted option indicates attendance (but you can tweak this
to fit your community’s needs).
Can individual signup options be restricted?
Yes! With Premium, both global and per-option event
restrictions can be configured.
How many signup options can an event have?
Events can have up to 20 signup options.
